OP27 lost communication to plc CPU 315-2

vandborg Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello There I have a little problem with this panel it seems to have lost the communication to the plc saddly enough i havent been able to find any dokumentation on this panel and i was wandering if there is a way on the panel where i can check the communication settings and maybe that way find out what the problem is The plc is working okay and the panel is only used to monitor some analog inputs and IO the panel also seems to be working okay i can switch between pages and everything but info on the panel is not updated. does anyone now where i can download a user manual for this panel in advance thanks for any help greetings claus

dchartier Grandmaster Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 3/19/2025 Posts: 12344 Rating: (2707)	Hello vandborg; Here is a link to the OP27 operator panel manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1142800 If you are using IF1B (S-485 port, PPI/MPI interface), check whether the Dip-switch settings (bottom of the unit, near the interface connectors) have been changed; see chapter 13 of the manual. There are no system messages appearing on the unit? A loss of communication with the PLC would generate some kind of siagnostics usually; the message would help to point out the problem. Unfortunately, you need Protool to connect to the OP27, and you need the original program on your PC, if you want to do changes to the configuration or the OP program. There is a utility called ProSave that will allow you to upload the compiled program but there is no way you can open it. Yoou must downloadthe programto a similar panel (save and restore utility). vandborg Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hey there thanks for the link to the manual and you are right it is the IF1B port that is used to connect to plc via a profibus cable i cant see any system messages on the screen i had hoped that there was a way to see the settings and statuson communication between panel and plc i will check the dipswitches i think the problem is started during some opgrading off the plc but i am not sure the display has never worked in my short time here. and i never worked with siemens software so i am a little blank on it. claus
