Hello, To backup an image from OP7, you have to swithch the OP to transfer mode. please follow instruction in thismanualfor entering download mode. To have a backup, you need only Prosave program. And to download the same program (image) you will need only Prosave also. You will need Protool only if you want to modify something in your project. And in this case, you should have the source file of the project. In the follwoing FAQ, you will find the required cables for transfering project to Simatic Panels What transfer options are available in the various operator panels? Hope this helps. |

Hello, It is not necessary to assign PG/PC Interface there. Take a serial RS232 (6XV1440-2K..) and connect both devices, switch off the panel, hold the necessary keys according to the manual, switch on the panel and that's it. To make a backup in case of OP7, take a look at http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/26588198 In order to download to OP7 using Protool, you will need to have an original project or to build a new one. The backup taken within Prosave couldn't be edit and is possible to download (restore) only in the same type of panel using Prosave. Basic steps how to use Protool with graphic based panels - http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1143129 Best regards, Hristo Mihalev |

Hello, Normally PG came with db9/db25 serial port adapter. If you lost it, do not worry, you can build it your self with the guidance of thislink, or you can buy one from electronics/ computer store house near to your location.
According to the link sent in my previous post,What transfer options are available in the various operator panels?, it is not possible to download/ upload projects to/from OP7 using profibus/MPI port. Hope this helps. |
