OP73 problem download

Hang_Tuah_5 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hello guys, I am really in a deep st. Today, I tried to download a WinCC Flex project into an OP73. I had checked in the OP73, the version is 1.03.00.01_01.01 (BL 1.9/2007-05-15). I also check in myWinCC Flexible 2005 SP1 to find for the HMI version of the OP73; and could find only 1.2.0.0 and 1.0.0.2. I tried to download the project into the OP73, but failed - only got this message: Transfer setting: MPI / DP, 187.5kB, Station address: 1; connected via CP5512 + MPI cable to IF1B. Everything else is default (PG address = 0, CPU = 2) 10:26:51.20 Transfer Info : The connected device supports version '13' for the selected transfer type. The PC software only supports devices up to version '12'.** 1) Is it OP73 ver. 1.03 is only available in WinCC Flex. 2007? 2) Is there anybody could tell me what to do? 3) Can I get the image file of 1.03.00.01 and paste in my WinCC Flex 2005 folder; and then refresh / update the list? I think this will not work at all. Cheers.

You have WinCC flexible 2005 + sp1, so you can only use version 1.2 You will have to perform an OS update, see link: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/19701610 Then you can download your project to OP73. Best regards, Wizard Dear Wizard, Let me imagine your answer first. Is it you mean that: a) If I have WinCC Flex 2007, I do not have to do the OS update. Just simple select the v1.3. b) If I have WinCC Flex 2005 + SP1, I have to do the OS update using serial PC/PPI Multimaster cable. And also have the image file of that v1.3.

aikona Posts: 487 Rating: (36)	Depending on your version of wincc flex you may have to do a OS update .When you create a project , just use the version that wincc flexs gives you (ie there could be a V1.1 , V1.2 and a V1.3 but if wincc has selected V1.2 then stick to it) From experience changing the version in your project gives problems. Another problem , first time you want to download to an OP73 you must use the serial connection.Again we had endless problems trying to download using MPI on the first use.Also there is a relation between the "setting the PG/PC interface" and wincc flex.Out of habit I make sure that the PG/PC interface is set to the one I want to use in wincc flex. Edit ... Sorry we had to use the PPI cable from Siemens ( the same you need for S7-200 series) Bye Eric

Hang_Tuah_5 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Dear all, It is a good idea to have both CP5512 (MPI/DP) and PC/PPI cable with you, in case if you are doing commissioning. I solved my problem by installing WinCC Flex 2007, then change the project OP73 version from 1.2 (original project version) to the new version (1.3). Of course, after I install the Hotfix 4 . Download using MPI/DP cable, smooth as wind it goes. If you have WinCC Flex 2005 SP1 (even with Hotfix 7) it is a good idea to have PC/PPI Multimaster serial cable (which I don't have, just in case you need to 'downgrade' your OP73. I just don't want to touch the OP73 version by 'downgrade' it. Just let it be like that - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. OS update is quite a tedious job, especially when you need to find the correct OS image! Thanks again everyone!
