Hi to all, I've to replace an old HMI with Cimplicity as scada and Siemens OPC Server for the comunication with the S7 400. The problem is that i'm not able to configure the station configurator, what i did: If i start the configuration from Step7 trought the command PLC, configure on the PC Station, i get this such if the opc is still active. I try also to stop the opc server before, but nothing. If i try to import the XDB file from the Station Configuration it self, i get a red cross error for the XDB it self. I've try to reinstall Simatic Net but nothing. Someone have any idea? Thanks to all in advance. Regards Duccio. Attachment1.pdf (356 Downloads) |

Hello What is the new SCADA type that you are using ? If its a Siemens SCADA ( e.g. WinCC ) then you do not need OPC server. You can just configure the S7 Protocol Suite ( For WInCC ) or S7 connection ( For WinCC Flexible ) Coming back to your issue, The Popup msg indicates that you should Stop the OPC Server before importing a new XDB file. It will not import a new XDB file if the OPC server is already running. For More details on using SIMATIC OPC Server : Data Communication between S7 Station and PC Station, using SIMATIC NET OPC Server Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |

Hello As I have mentioned in the previous post, you need to force Shutdown of the OPC Server. The following is an extract from this Manual : SIMATIC NET PC software Commissioning PC Stations - Manual and Quick Start 4.5.2.2 Forcing the OPC server to close down The OPC server for SIMATIC NET is started automatically by the operating system when a client ants to use it. The OPC server maintains reference counters to be able to recognize when the last egistered client is closed. The OPC Server then closes itself down. This is only possible when the lients set and reset the user counters of the OPC Server correctly. If a client closes down irregularly and the user counter is not reset, the OPC server will not close down although no more clients are active. The server continues to keep the communication connections open. In this case, it is a good idea to stop the OPC server manually. Follow the steps below if you want to close down or restart OPC server: 1. Open the "SIMATIC NET Configuration" folder in the navigation area. 2. Select "OPC settings" and click on the "Quit OPC server" property object. Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |
