you could only get access to Optimized Block access Data Blocks with using Simatic Net OPC Server V12 or newer and only with OPC UA.

I do not know any solution with OPCDA.

how could I get access to an optimized data block using OPC UA? I haven't found any document with references to this possibility, and with the OPC Scout I'm able to see only the non-optimized blocks.

I have Simatic Net OPC Server v14+SP1 and a CPU S7-1500.

you can of course also have access to Optimized Blocks with OPC DA but you need a OPC Server that has a Communication channel for the new S7 PLCs with Optimized Block access.

-> For example -> S71500 <->WinCC Advanced Runtime - OPC DA Server <-OPC Da Client

Yes, for sure I will try to use the S7-1500 integrated OPC UA Server. I've never used it, that's because in the previous message i reported the one I know (SIMATIC NET v14).

Thanks for the link to the OPC UA docs, I'll have a look to them to see if I lost something about how to access optimized data blocks with OPC UA.
