Hi forum,

I'm new in PLC's and OPC servers so I need small help from you experienced people.

In factory I'm using PLC-1 that communicates through OPC Server (I guess it is SimaticNET OPC) with MM8000 DMS. Now, another company got a job in programming another PLC-2 and they have their own project where programming was done. My job is to configure in my project OPC and network in a way so MM8000 can read data from PLC-2. PLC-1 and PLC-2 are on same network and I can ping PLC-2 from PC station where OPC server is.

Any idea?

I was thinking to do next in TIA Portal v13.

1. To open my project and to add PLC-2 and to set IP address of PLC-2.
2. Add connection between PLC-2 and OPC.
3. Compile PC station and download.

Not sure if it will work....as I said..pretty much new in PLCs and OPC.
