OPC Remote access problem

s0ppen Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I have a ET200S, with a CPU 151-8. The OPC server is up and running, and i can read data locally from it, with the OPC Scout. I can also ping the computer with the OPC server from the other computer im using. Im using a PI OPC Client to connect to the OPC server from a different PC The problem is that i can`t read the data from the OPC server. I have no problem finding it, and connect to it. I do get som errors, but Im unable to retrieve any data from the tags. I have searched around on the forum, and configured DCOM on both computers, configured the OPC server in Configuration Console (allow remote access) and also the privilges in Simatic.NET services. Is there some settings I`m missing to make this work?

Nevertheless I add this short description: How do you get remote access to the SIMATIC NET OPC server? To be sure, that the used OPC Client doesn't cause the problem I suggest installing the OPC Scout on the remote PC (in directory SW you will find a setup only for the OPC Scout). Some questions: Are both PC in a Domain or in a Workgroup? If yes, are both in the same? Is there a firewall installed who can block this communication? if possible disable for a test and check if DCOM ports are released.
