OPC Server access error in WinCC Server

Kanag's Posts: 54 Rating: (2)	Hi Im setting up an OPC communication between the WinCC Server with another WinCC single user project. The WinCC Server is running in Windows Server 2003 R2 PC and the other WinCC project is running on Windows XP SP2 PC. From the previous Forum replies, I guess I have set all the DCOM settings in both PCs for OPC Server.wincc as well as for OPCEnum. The following are the error from the OPC browser's: Server PC: HRESULT = 80004002 E_NOINTERFACE NO SUCH INTERFACE SUPPORTED WinCC PC: HRESULT = 800040154 REGDB_E CLASS NOT REGISTERED I need any of your support in sorting this issue Regards, Kanag

Kanag's Posts: 54 Rating: (2)	Dear Phantom Thanks for your reply. In actual I have done the OPC DCOM config when the runtime is not active. Now I have redone and checked the settings in WinCC runtime. As per the FAQ, the settings were made for both OPC server & OPC Enum. But still the error exist. Im attaching the screen dump of the DCOM settings. I have added the following user groups in the access limits of DCOM config: administrators, system, interactive, anonymous logon, network etc. Regards, Kanag Attachment OPC_SET_2.zip (420 Downloads)

I have had similar problems with DCOM settings in the past where everything seems fine but still the OPC client doesn't work. The only thing that works in this situation is a fresh WinCC install. Normally after installing the WinCC and Connectivity Pack, no additional DCOM settings are required. Regards

Kanag's Posts: 54 Rating: (2)	Hi Everybody In continuation of my previous post, I can able to access the OPC server of the WinCC Single user project from the WinCC Server. From the WinCC single user project if I try to access the OPC Serevr of WinCC Server project I get the folowing error code: HRESULT = 800040154 REGDB_E CLASS NOT REGISTERED From the WinCC Server PC if I try to access its own (Local) OPC Server, then also Im getting the same error. From the previous forum replies I have set the following DCOM settings. 1. The access & launch permissions (full control) are given to ANONYMOUS LOGON, EVERYONE, SYSTEM, INTERACTIVE for DCOM mycomputer settings as well as for OPCServer.WinCC & OPC Enum 2. Both PC windows logon have same username & password 3. OPC Server.WinCC authentication level is set to "default" and the identity is set to interactice user. I have tried by using "none" as well as "connect" 4. OPC Enum authentication level is set to "none" and the identity is set to the system account (services only). Before I reinstall the WinCC, I just wanted to know is the settings are correct or if I can try with some other settings please guide me. Is there any addiational setting required for Windows 2003 Server? Regards, Kanag
