Hi ahmedmae94, I'm a bit confused about the assembly you like to get it started. If you use a S7-300 and a PC with WinCC flexible, wired by profibus, then there is no need for OPC. If you like to connect another application (e.g. Excel) to WinCC flexible, you can use OPC. If both is running on the same machine, you do it by COM (as J_Bell already told you). COM doesn't need any further adjustments, unlike DCOM. In that case, WinCC flexible would be an OPC-Server and Excel the OPC-Client. A more detailed description can be found here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/18657078 |

Hello, Roland is right, COM does not require any settings at all, it runs as soon as Windows is up and running. Best regards J_Bell |
