OPC Server - Item does not exist

Singh Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hello everyone We have a big problem with our OPC servers, we dont knowwhat triggers the problem on them but i will try to explain what happens. 1. We use Simatic OPC server, and have our SCADA IGSS and OPC clients conected to it. 2. We setup the OPC server and everything works great for some weeks and even months. We get to send commands fromthe SCADA system aswell as the OPC clients(scout)but then suddenly after some time (weeks/months) we notice that the opc server does not respond, we logg into the opc server with OPC scout browse to the itemsand get this message: "item does not exist" 3. Then we have to restart the OPC server and everything works for some time 4. We dontget any errors or messages in thewindows event manager or any other places, so it is almost impossibletofind out whatreallyhappens to the server. 5 What makes it go in thisstate?is it to much load of data that collapses the OPC server ?

What SIMATIC NET CD is installed (including all SP's or HF's) on which OS ( including SP's ) B. Did you try to monitor by the use of the OPC Trace if the system noticed any problem?
