OPC Server - WinCCFlex communication problem

Comunication from my laptop to the other PC goes both ways, with OPC Scout and WinCCFlex, but in other direction communication goes with OPC Scout but with WinCCFlex it is imposible. When I am browsing the network in the Flex it finds my laptop but it stays "blue" not green with all connections avalble. If it was the same for OPC Scout I would understand but like this no... It is WinCCFlex2005 SP1 HF7 Does anyone has any ideas? Regards

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I know this sounds like a simple answer but it am convinced that you have a problem with the DCOM Settings on your Laptop. Your DCOM Settings on the flexible PC seem to be OK, because you can access the OPC Server on the flexible environment, but this does not work with flexible being a OPC Client. Usually the OPC Server PC has insufficient rights or a too high security level. PC - PC Communication works independent from the DCOM Communication. Best regards J_Bell

From one I can access to another PC (OPC Server) with both, WinCCFlex and OPC Scout.When I try to do the same in oposit direction it works with OPC Sout but not with Flexible. DCOM settings are the same on both PC`s. That confuses me the most.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I fear this is Microsoft. There is no way to diagnose why ... and what is not working. Sometimes the only solution, even if it is not the "real" way is to reinstall the PC. Maybe it solves the Problem. For a detailed diagnosis of the Data traffic, while the initialization of the DCOM Channel over IP it may require more time. You may contact Customer Support to get a second thought on it, I would do it. Best regards J_Bell

Jesper Pedersen Posts: 279 Rating: (30)	Hi. I have heard about the difficulties with setting up DCOM for accesing remote OCP servers. There is at least one vendor that makes a "Remote OPC without DCOM" solution: http://www.opcsystems.com/opc_route_net.htm Maybe there are others. I just googled "Remote OPC without DCOM".
