OPC UA Server on Comfort Panel

AutomaGog Regular Member Joined: 10/20/2009 Last visit: 6/24/2019 Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	I'm struggling to figure out how to configure correctly a TP900 as OPC UA Server (since OPC XML is no longer supported with TIA V13). For my test I've enabled the flag 'Operate as OPC-UA Server' and I've set security to 'none'. After I've downloaded the project, I've tried to connect with two OPC UA Client. First, 'Siemens OPC Scout' is unable to connect (Status=The connection to the server is down). Second, 'UA Sample Client by OPC Foundation' which is able to connect and browse variable, but I'm only able to read variable's value if I manually enter the correct NodeId (ns=3;s=VarName). Both clients are unable to automatically discover the server, I need to add manually the configuration (opc.tcp://HostName:4870). Is there something wrong in my test or OPC UA Server in comfort panel behaves differently than OPC UA Server in PC (es. Simatic Net)? Attachment OPC Scout.gif (530 Downloads)

So you have to edit the lmhosts file on the Computer you want to connet to the comfort Panel so that a PING with the Devicename works! then its an easy thing Bye Murof
