What are you thinking about when you ask for non-Windows OS and OPC UA?

you also have to think that you need an OPC UA Server which is able to get Access to a S71X00 PLC.

There is the Simatic Net OPC Server for example but this Program is only available for Windows.

There are a lot of non windows solutions like Devices for control cabinet or caprail. but you have to check on which PLC those Devices can get access to.

There will be a possibility in the future. Its a question of time that the new PLC like S71500 have an OPC UA Server in Board or that you can get Ethernet CPs for OPC UA Communication.

I think I heard something with new Firmware Version in TIA V14 for S71500. (but I dont know exactly its only a rumor, but I think it will come)

So The Server Is the Important Part. As a client you can use any OPC UA client.
