Hi! Just poking some brains here; I've been playing around a bit with OPC UA nodes in Node-RED and have found it very raw and crude and somewhat annoying "errors". I remember reading a forum topic where it was stated that Node-RED OPC UA Servers aren't really reliable and an open source opc ua server should be used, e.g. FreeOPCUA or open62541. Is this still applicable? [If the above statement is true] Would be great if there were any of these OPC UA packages were tested and could be recommended for use with Node-RED, in a similiar way like the MQTT node connecting to the localhost mosquitto mqtt broker. A working recommended setup would be great with possibly a guide.
Also will the IOT20xx images possibly get released with these packages just as it comes with the mosquitto mqtt broker? Summed up: Really happy with the preinstalled mosquitto MQTT broker + Node-RED combo, and are looking for a similiar solution with OPC UA. |

Hi, I guess you found the entries about node-red OPC UA Server for the IOT2040. I don't know if it really makes sense to use some kind of C/C++ or python OPC UA server and write an own node for node-red to configure this server. In my opinion this is a different scenation than the mosquitto / mqtt node connection. We could think about integrating e.g the open62541 library, you can open an issue on github with this suggestion Best regards! |
Not working for IOT2050 support anymore from March 1st, 2024. |
