Open an online trend from a WinCC Client.

Pacanins Posts: 23 Rating: (1)	We are having problem with a WinCC client when opening an online trend. The trend is configured to use archived tags. On the server, everything works fine. When I try to open the same trend on the client, I get the message "load from archive ..." and this never ends. Do you have any ideas what can cause this problem?

Pacanins Posts: 23 Rating: (1)	WINCCClient is looking for an archive on C:\AffinerieAg\ArchiveManager\..... This is fine for the server but the client should search in \\SSC0018\AffinerieAg\ArchiveManager\... Where should I change this path?

Pacanins Posts: 23 Rating: (1)	You have to check the Client computer for the SQL data base connection: Windows: Start -> Programm -> Microsoft SQL Server -> Enterprise Manager => now you open the first tree indexes. If the computer names do not match, you have a problem! To fix it you may want to: install a new WinCC component to initialize the WinCC database to the SQL Server. or reistall WinCC on the Client computer. Other things to check: 1) the authentication of the SQL Server: right click on the client computer Windows Explorer ( \WinCC > Properties > Security => it should be SQL Server and Windows ). 2) Which permissions have the user on the client? They should be administrator or poweruser on it, and be a member of the group "SIMATIC HMI". Would you please let me know if any of this recommendations solved your problem?

The problem had to be in the server because every client had the same problem. Also a working project caused the same problem. I descided to reinstall Wincc and the SQL db, what results in an working system. So i don't now exactly what was wrong in the server.

marcsand Posts: 1 Rating: (1)	Hi, do you use Simatic NET on your WinCC-server? Which versions? WinCC 6.0 is not compatible with Simatic NET V6.4. On the server the trends will work fine but on the clients you will get the message "load from archive ...". Even after deinstalation of SimaticNET V6.4 (Edition 2006) and installing SimaticNET V6.3(Edition 2005 HF1) the trends will not work on the clients. You will have to install Windows, WinCC V6.0 SP4 and Simatic NET v6.3 (Edition 2006 HF1). You can check the compatibility of WinCC and Simatic net on the WinCC V6.x Kompatibilitaetsliste: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21927774

Jamer Posts: 36 Rating: (3)	This solution worked for me! Just had to uninstall WinCC V6 Sp4, uninstall Simatic Net 6.4, then Install Simatic Net 6.3 + Hf1 and finally install WinCC 6 Sp4. Thanks
