SonicRanger Posts: 151 Rating: (8)	Hi Alexgabriel, The Siemens Multiranger 200 + Echomax XPS-10 sensor is suitable for open channel measurement, but I don't know how accurate an OCM is for a channel with these dimensions. The multiranger 200 has several built-in formula's and linearization tables to convert height to flow, and of course it has totalizer functions. If you need more information, please reply. SonicRanger Posts: 151 Rating: (8)	Hi alexgabriel, if it's just a channel and there's no linearity of flow versus level, then just a level measurement will not be enough. Maybe you can use a Milltronics OCM III with an ultrasonic level measurement, and connect a sensor to it's mA input for measuring the speed of the water. I think there are usable doppler sensors for these applications on the market. In this way, you measure speed and area of the water layer. And speed x area makes flow. Best Regards, SonicRanger.

If it is free flowing out of the end you might call this a rectangular wier without end contractions. In that case there are calculations for it, and the Hydro will work, and the OCM will work better. This is the world the OCM was designed for. If the water level actually came up the 7 meters you show as hieght then the flow in a Rectangular Flume without end contractions would be over 120 million gallons per day. Is this a possible number? Example of a rectangular flume without end contraction? A dam, or end of spillway. DN
