open communication wizard in hybrid configuration

maurop Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear Sirs, do someone tried an iso on tcp connection using the mentioned wizard in a configuration where we have profinet cpu (315pn or 317 on) on one hand CP443.1 IT on the other hand or profinet cpu (315pn or 317 on) on one hand CP343.1 IT on the other hand I'd like to have a feedback and impressions using a similar hybrid configuration Best regards, mauro

It works great if you use it carefully and you should be aware to enter all the values twice, once in the Open Communication Wizard and once in Netpro. One point I crossed several times was the TSAP add on in the PN CPU with ISO on TCP Protocol. I always had to enter the add on in the Hex-field in Netpro... but as I cared about it... it worked. Another point is that the Connection configured in NetPro usually are active, especially if you configure the connection to a node outside the NetPro project. So in this case the PN CPU needs to be passive or you are sure to switch the configuration over in the CP. As you see it is actually no big deal to do. Best regards J_Bell

I wrongly convinced wizard take the place of net pro in this circumstance. Can you give me an introductory example so that I take teaching? Best regards, mauro pagani

maurop Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi EDR, yes, I read that. The wizard will create the udt or the db with the connection data etc.. My doubt is regarding the J_Bell answer: how is net-pro involved in this communication since the wizard create the communication parametrization? Regards, mauro

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear mauro, the issue is the Open Communication Wizard creates the configuration, as a UDT or DB,for the PLC the PN Interface is at, is it? So how should the PLC the CP is in get to know of this configuration? There is no way in it, so you have to do the configuration and this configuration needs to be done in NetPro, there is no alternative for the CP... at least for the S7-300. Seen in NetPro you have to use a Unspecified Partner because you may not use the PN Interface to configure a Send / Receive Connection, it will be refused because the System knows that the interface does not support Send / Receive like a CP does. The only possible connection to be configured with NetPro for the PN interface of the CPU is the S7-Connection. I hope I could make my point clear so far. Sadly the sample does not contain a PLC or two PLCs with one Partner within... sadly... there was a Sample... I think, but it has been removed... I think. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear mauro, I guess you will be glad to hear that you do not necessarily need the advanced family of CP’s but you may also use the Standard or even the LEAN version of the Ethernet CP’s to do TCP/IP UDP/IP or ISO on TCP. This includes also the connectivity to the PN interface of the CPU with T-Communication. Best regards J_Bell
