Kibosh Posts: 18 Rating: (1)	Hey guy's Well I have a real problem now. When I try to open my WinCC project I get the message: "Opening the project failed: Access is denied". Also I can't create a new project: "The user does not have the rights to perform this action! Please check the assignment of the current user of the user groups in Windows." I was working on the project a couple days ago so why I don't have access now is already very weird. I also checked that my windows user is member of "Simatic HMI" which is off course the case. I re-installed WinCC (WinCC only) but still I have the same problem. So what can this be? WinCC version is 6.2.2 Step 7 version is V5.4 + SP2 I really could use some help on this one. Kibosh Posts: 18 Rating: (1)	Thx already for the reply. Re-installing Windows is no option because it's my home pc which I use for testing and learning to get better in WinCC and Step 7. Like now I was working on standard objects with auto tag generation, alarms and taglogging. But ok, the patches: Patch 1 installed with no problems but didn't fix it. Patch 3 will not install. It says that I have to have WinCC installed? Weird? First patch 3 asks for the map with WinCC, I give it in, then it asks if the files may be overwritten, so I say yes, and then when it really should begin I get the message that WinCC is not installed... So it isstillnot working... I have a seperate HDin my rig which I use for the software of my work. It'sto tryto keep the pc clean and also work and pleasure should seperated. But the really weird thing is that WinCC worked for a couple off weeks and now for some reason not anymore.

Have You seen this FAQs http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/26341426 Maybe its Dcom Settings Also read WinCC Online help chapter Installation Notes > Installation requirements > Access Rigths in Operating System Maybe there is something missing with the Access Rights

Kibosh Posts: 18 Rating: (1)	Ok, I found the problem. I should have thought of it much sooner. When I read your link it also said the magic word "firewall". I probably didn't gave it much thought because I'm just using PLCSim so WinCC stays internal and normally doesn't need to go to the network. Guess I was wrong there. So it works with the windows firewall on because when I looked there WinCC added a bunch of stuff. But I'm using Kaspersky Internet Suite and there of course no expections were added. I already took a quick look on which ports should be opened but couldn't find much. I guess when I need to work with WinCC I will turn off Kasperky and enable Windows. Thanx for the help. PS. Still it's weird that it worked before?
