Operating Temperature Range of SIMATIC S7 Hardware

C ( Although in the region where it is to be installed, the minimum temperature ever recorded is 0.1 Deg C and Maximum Recorded Temperature is 49 Deg C). We have been arguing that 0-60 Degrees is more suited for the climating conditions, however they still want us to comply with the specifications. I have gone through this FAQand also this Thread While the FAQ very nicely explains the effect of Low Air pressure on module cooling, it does not indicate anywhere the effects of low temperatures ( Below0 Deg. C ). I would request the users and experts on theforum to share there experience on this. Cheers Navnag

Thanks, but we feel this is a borderline case and does not really require SIPLUS Hardware. What we are looking for is to understand what are the reasons that Temperatures < 10 Degrees are not permitted for SIMATIC. Is it that the Hardware will failor its performance will degrade ? In any case we are convinced that 0-60 Deg C is more suited for the climate prevailing rather than -10 to 55 Deg C. ( Ambient Ranges from 0.1 to 49 Deg C ).The question is that can we safely commit that system can work upto -10 Deg C without any significant performance degradation ? Cheers Navnag
