Optical Redundant Rings using OLM

MemoGG Advanced Member Joined: 2/20/2009 Last visit: 7/6/2022 Posts: 53 Rating: (0)	Hi Everybody, in our installation we have several optical redundants rings using OLM G12, my question is regarding wether or not both optical channels are the functionally the same, that is I've heard that channel 2 is for input and channel 3 is for output. Is this a convention only or does it really change network operation? Also, any recommendation regarding dip switches? Regards

Regards Hi MemoGG, Here is the Manual for the SIMATIC NET OLM12M In that you will find the Ring configuration & DIP switch for the OLM.
