In TIA Portal versions 10.5/11/12, you cannot change it once set. You need to create a new DB and set the attributes first. They you can simply select all the items in the DB with the wrong attributes, copy (Ctrl-C), then paste into the new DB. Delete the original DB, then renumber the new one so the DB # is the same as the original. I know it is a lot of steps. Perhaps that is why Siemens fixed this is V13. Note that V13 is much more stable in many ways compared to V12, so you may want to update to V13 now.
