option for multi timers

I'm looking also for an option for multi timers. The plan is not to use S5Timers due to the limitation of the numbers of timers that can be used. Also does the FB where the timer shall be use, be transferable between S7-1500, S7-300 and S7-400 systems.

I have 250 material gates (like a 3 way valve) that has two direction of movement. In both directions I have the need for a TON timer, that controls the movement. If the set time is excided, the timer will indicated a fault and disable the output to the motor to prevent damages to the motor. The second timer is a TOF timer, that will delay the switch-off for the motor output, to make sure the gate has reached the endposition.

Problem is that I have 250 of those material gates and that will give me problems with the number of timers I can use in the different systems.

So, my question: What option do I have to generate my own timer (TON / TOF) in TIA v13, that will run on all systems? Any examples on that? I have searched the forum but not much was to find on the matter. I have seen that there was a interesting discussion on S5Timers v IEC timers but that did not got me the answers I was looking for.

Any suggestions are welcome.

I think using IEC timers bring us advantages:

1) you can use as may timers as you need

2) it brings you advantage if you use timers inside function block. You can make it as multiple instance inside function block, so you do not have to "renumber" it if you use this function block several time.

For example if you use function block for drive and inside this function block you have timers for fault of feedback of running drive evaluation. If you use IEC timer and make it multiple instance, you can call the function block of the drive and you do not have to care about renaming or renumbering of the timer in multiply call of the function block...
