We often receive questions regarding the options for sending e-mails in TIA Portal.

PLC

With a S7-1500 CPU and S7-1200 CPU (> V4.0) the communication instruction "TMAIL_C" can be used.

HMI

To send e-mails with an HMI, the system function "SendEMail" can be used. This system function is available for Comfort Panels, Mobile Panels (except Mobile Panel 177 DP) and Runtime Advanced (see linked system functions of the HMI variants!).

Alternatively, it is possible to define an e-mail address at various message classes. When a message of this message class is triggered, a message is automatically sent (see e-mail notification from Runtime).
