Oracle To WinCC

Had same problem IDB 7.3,

If you cant connect to oracle you need to check few things.

1. If you have installed Oracle Client for 11G/C properly.

2. After that you need check TNS NAMES

3. Try to connect with EXCEL over OleDB Driver.

4. Check with DBA Support of ORACLE if you have all permissions.

5. Try to read first some table from small schemas, because large one will stuck your IDB.

6. If you cant write to the table but can read, the possible reason is table unchangeable or has rows setted as cannot be null.

I had problem over week finally the problem was with permissions for DB. The support give me unchangeable table.
