Is there a standard program from Siemens for this purpose? If not, what software from Siemens do I need if I want to write a applicationen in C + + / QT for this purpose? HMI Programming Package, perhaps!? Regards Henrik

DB12 of the PLC must be configured. Warranty problems can occur when accessing the PLC on a new machine. Is there a solution where it is possible to access these PLC and NC active data without opening the PLC. Perhaps a program that runs in the background on PCU50. Regards Henrik

Pee El Sea Gold Member Joined: 1/19/2008 Last visit: 3/9/2025 Posts: 996 Rating: (64)	Hi, If you have a pcu50 or mmc103 you can write in any langauge that can run under windows and access the dde interface. I use VB as it tends to run on all versions of windows. You can set the DDE server to be visible and check all of the available variables if you power up into windows to launch the HMI. Pee

I am not familiar with DDE server / interface and the options available when using this. Would you explain a little about how to start and use this service so I can test it on my test setup. Pee El Sea Gold Member Joined: 1/19/2008 Last visit: 3/9/2025 Posts: 996 Rating: (64)	Hi In MMC.INI you must set servers to visible. Start the control up into windows desktop. Start the HMI advanced. Use alt and tab to step through the running applications to get to the dde server. This will display a list of all available variables and their description to be used in either a VB or other program that you have written to read the values and then write them over the serial port or network. You will have to use the Siemens task launch to get your program to run on power up but it can be launched manually for test purposes. The information given is not for 'Dabbling'. Anybody who it not confident to be able to put things right if they screw up the operation of the HMI software should leave well alone. Windows sofware on the HMI is the embedded version and may be missing functions which require further windows software to be loaded. If your program is not well written it will slow the operation of the HMI sofware. Pee
