p1300 Control Scheme "Operation with braking resistor"

p1300=15 means the motor module is used as braking module, see chapter 8.14 of the function manual.

So this mode must not be used for a motor module a motor is connected to. For using a braking chopper and resistor, you need no special control mode at the motor module. You should only check the settings for the Vdc max controller.

without knowing your setup its difficult to say, how the braking chopper and resistor has to be installed. But "have a braking unit and 1.4ohm 5kw resistor bank" seems strange, as the 1.4ohm to not fit to the 5kW rating - at a typical braking threshold for 3AC 400V devices of 795V DC a 1.4ohm resistor would have a peak power of around 451kW (795V²/1.4ohm).

At the drive, you only need to disable the Vdc max control.
