parameter type at output Diag is not supported

Kubb Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	Hello everyone, I do have the problem that I can get out the information about which modes are supported for my module (SM1231 TC; modes 0,1,2) and also can read out the diag information in mode 1. But after I set mode on 2 I get the retval 8081 that means that the parameter type at output Diag is not supported (which is actually DIS as written in the manual). If I use DNN instead as parameter I don't get an error but also no information. In mode 2 I want to get the details information (channel, errortype, etc.). I don't get the problem. Siemens also couldn't help me yet! So how can I get out the detail information from output detail into my struct of type diagnosticsdetails? And why do I get an error 8081 while I use the right parameter as in the manual? Thanks for your help. Andi

Andi In reading your post, it reads like you manually created your DIS struct instead of using the one built into the portal environment. If this is true, you need to read earlier in the thread that you have to type the DIS for the datatype. Portal will accept it even though it might not appear in the picklist of datatypes. If you used the built-in DIS datatype, the problem must be a different parameter. Post a screen shot of your get_diag for your TC module. It might help solve the problem.

A. Kubb Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	Thank you for your fast reply. I do use the DIS datatype. For mode 1 it works well. First I get the DWORD out in mode 0 to see which other modes are supported. Then I switch to mode 1 and get out the diag information. It works well. Just as in the manual. But then I switch to mode 2 and I get the error code 16#8081 as RetVal. This means that in the actual mode the parameter at output DIAG is not supported. As you can see in the screenshot of the watchlist the variable modi shows that mode 0-2 are supported. You can also see that in mode 1 I get the right information. And you see the RetVal_mode2 that is 16#8081. I hope you have an idea about what is wrong. Siemens wasn't able to help me yet. Thnak you. A. Kubb Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	I just got an update from Siemens. It seems that the online help is wrong. In the S7 manual is written that in mode two only the structure DNN is supported at the output DIAG. This is what the Siemens support told me. I will test it now. But I guess I will still have the problem that no diagnostic details will be shown at the output DETAIL because I tested it yesterday already with the DNN structure when I was trying around. The error was gone but still no data at the DETAIL output.

A. Kubb Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	Hello, just a short info. The help topic of TIA integrated help is wrong. If you want to work with the GetDiag function you should read the "S71200_system_manual" 04/2011 or later. Some of the functions described in the TIA help are not working or are not yet implemented (such as DETAIL). This had cost me a lot of work till one guy of Siemens told me that the TIA help is wrong.
