Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (318)	Hi Yaseen, You have to make a source from the program and then type in the header "KNOW_HOW_PROTECT" and compile it again. If you want that nobody can do something with it, you have to delete all the information and text that you have written in it, this because STL is very easy to crack. When you want more protection, then it is better to write it in SCL and also place "KNOW_HOW_PROTECT" in the source header. Good luck

What i wanted to do is, i have some PLC's working in my plant with cpu 315-2DP. and all the program is written in ladder logic and partialy in STL. if you could tell me how to protect the runing software from unauthorised changes. Like my technicians keep changing the ladder diagram and i want to protect the plc code so that no one can change the existing code. if you could let me know step by step procedure and send me that on yaseen3737@yahoo.com, it will great favour from you. as per your instructions i was trying to look for source files, but there are nothing there. do i need to creat one with the name you said? Kindly bear with me for my limited knowlege on S7 and pls let me know in detail what to do. Thanks and best regards. yaseen

You Can call the SFC109 (PROTECT ) in OB100. By using SFC109 you can switch the protection level form 1 to 2 once the PLC goes into RUN Mode . To change anything you need to stop the PLC (By changing Hardwired Key switch to STOP Mode). You can find this SFC109 in Siemens Library other let me know i will send you source file.
