Pausing a PID Loop

What would be the best way to Pause a PID Loop from processing? Is it as simple as using a contact in front of the PID_Compact FB call in the Cyclic Interuppt OB to stop it from processing?

Hello, PID controller in manual mode can stop processing and output a constant value.There are some concerns regarding the bumpless switchover from auto-->manual and vice versa.You can program in such a way that moment of auto-->man is bumpless While man-->auto normally rectified internally.More help in online help in TIA portal. Record the last pid output(in%)at transition from auto to manual and use that value as manual setpoint can be a solution in some cases. Regards, Marcjan
