We are upgrading an old PC running WinCC Scada V6.4 that is connected to two s7-200 via PC-ACCESS. The communication is in profibus and the pc has a CP5611 installed in it.

The new pc will run the newer WinCC Scada v7 but wont have a CP5611 installed. Can we use a usb pc adapter or this https://www.helmholz.de/prod.d,80_92_93.html?p_id=142 to replace the CP5611 card?

you can use any one of the following for replacing the cp in your pc

• PPI via PC/PPI cable  
  • USB/PPI cable (order number: 6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0)
  • RS232/PPI cable (order number: 6ES7 901-3CB30-0XA0)
  • RS232/PPI cable (order number: 6ES7 901-3BF21-0XA0).

you can also use third party profibus ethernet gateway but i  recommend to use any of the above siemens cable.
