Hello Everyone,

          I am working on CPU 414-2DP. I want to go online for monitoring program. But it is not communicating with PC through this cable. 

          Instead I used PC adapter USB(OLD cable) and I was able to communicate with PC and PLC in one go. 

          What is the reason behind??

yes check Device Manager in Windows. If there is a problem with the device you can download the Driver at the following link:

    Thanks for reply.

    I used PC Adapter A2 cable on same laptop a day before yesterday. The Laptop was communicating with PLC. PLC was CPU 317-2PN/DP. So, the cable and PC are good, I think.

hmm, perhaps everything will work again after initialization of you interface. Please check the following FAQ with a step for step manual.

How do you generally parameterize the PG/PC interface and how do you ensure that the device driver can be selected and is visible?

    Problem Solved. 

    I came back from site and checked PC adapter A2 cable on S7-300 CPU and found that cable itself is faulty. I t was not communicating with S7-300 also.

    Damn things.. You never know when electronic equipment will fail.
