PC Adapter USB A2 and Simatic Step 7 V12 SP1

I recently got Simatic Step 7 Professional V12 SP1 and a PC Adapter USB A2 (please mind the A2, the amount of documentation for the new adapter from Siemens is laughable). Step 7 installed ok on Windows XP and, apparently, the USB Adapter was also correctly installed as it appears on the device manager. The problem is, when I try to communicate with the adapter on TIA (searching for devices connected to it) it gives a strange error (below) and never detects anything. "The driver is not loaded or the CP was not found." What is CP? How do I load the driver? The USB Adapter A2 is NOT selectable on the "Set PG/PC Interface" program on the control pannel, but is listed as installed on the same program and on TIA, so I guess there must be some driver issue.
