Hello all,

I am having a problem in setting up fault tolerant communication of PC and 400-H system. I am trying to download program from PC but It says configured address cannot be reached and nothing showing in accessible node also.

Please refer to attached file for three cases tested by me. First case doesnt work and I want to implement it. Second case works but If CPU-b is master and the port communicating fails then communication will be lost. To my surprise, even third case works but in this case system is prone to failure of Lan port of the PC and when CPU-A is power off and CPU-B is master then PG cannot access CPU-B as it is no way connected to PC.

I can accept the second case with neglecting chance of failure of CPU-B but what is wrong with my original architecture. I want it to work so that system can be fully fault tolerant.

Hi Kbv,

You should do connections which u have mentioned in netpro. It will be as follws-

1. Connect cpu-a to switch -1.

2. Connect cpu-b to switch -2.

3. Connect both switches to PC.

4. Interconnect both switches. 

Second port of cpu must be used if and only if there is ring topology.

teaming is not supported for the planmt bus connection to your PLC.

You have to connect the devices like Sachinpatke mentioned. An improvement to this solution is to build a "mini" ring of your two switches: One has to be set to be ring manager.

Then you need redconnect software and license. So you can set up a fault tolerant connection in Netpro. The switching of both connection is then maintained by redconnect.

Thanks Sachin for your answer. I will try configuration you said but in that system is not fault tolerant to port failure of CPU. I wonder what can be the reason for my original configuration not working??

The second port of cpu interface is not for redundancy. It should be used in ring topology. ur original confi. is not as per network architecture in netpro.
