Hello Late, MRP stands for Media Redundancy Protocol. It's a new ring protocol for ProfiNet which gives us the possibilty to add devicesdirectly in a ring. For example you could use CP-Cards, Decentral Periphery (Future), Switches and you can combine this. it's only available in managed devices either in Step 7 or directly via the Web Based Manager, this depends on the device type. An interesting specification is that this ring has a reconfiguration time from less 200 ms with 50 devices in a ring. For more detailed information about MRP I would suggest you to read the manual of the Scalance X200. The information is placed in Chapter 2.4 (Page 20-21). Manual Scalance X200 Your question about mirroring can also be answerred with yes. but keep in mind that you need a free port to mirror the traffic on. And it's only possible with managed devices. And then you can use Wireshark to read the data. |
Best regards, |

Hi INS, Ok, I will read the manual when I have some spare time... Very interesting that MRP with 50 switches in one ring with a reconfiguration time of 200mS. Yes of course you need a free port to analyse the data when you are mirroring an port, the wireshark also know the PROFINET-protocol, it is very easy to follow a datastream. |
I hope that the answer will help, if you have still questions, don't hesitate to ask me. |
