As you can see from the attached picture (from the same source), you can connect the instrument with PDM over Profinet in different ways, depending oin what kind of interface your instrument has:

1. if you have an analog or resistance interface, use an ET 200M Profinet head (such as the IM 153-4 PN interface module)with an adequate analog module to connect it to Profinet;

2. if you have a PA instrument, use an IE/PB coupler to connect from Profinet to Profibus-DP, then a DP/PA coupler (or link) to talk to your instrument;

3. use an equipment with specialized Profinet functions such as a Simocode motor protector to connect directly to Profinet
