Hello Him; Connection through PDM implies you have an instrument of some kind. Now, PDM supports different communication protocols, including Profinet: http://www.siemens.com.au/files/automation/auto_simatic_pcs7_pdm.pdf Communications and routing SIMATIC PDM supports several communication protocols and components for communicating with devices that have the following interfaces: • PROFIBUS DP/PA interface • FOUNDATION Fieldbus (FF) interface • PROFINET interface • HART interface (modem, wireless) • Modbus interface Further communication protocols on request. As you can see from the attached picture (from the same source), you can connect the instrument with PDM over Profinet in different ways, depending oin what kind of interface your instrument has:
