Requirements for installing and operating PCS 7 software V7.1 SP3 ● Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. ● Windows Server 2003 (Standard Edition) Service Pack 2 ● Windows Server 2003 R2 Service Pack 2 (Standard Edition). ● Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 is installed automatically. SIMATIC PCS 7 V7.1 SP3 = SIMATIC PCS 7 V7.1 SP2 + small updates (not revolution) + Software components on the SIMATIC PCS 7 DVD V7.1 + SP3 (check in the link above).

Again its Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. Now Microsoft is not selling Windows XP CDs, rather they are selling Windows 7 DVDs. Its very hard to find Windows XP CDs. So, when Siemens is releasing PCS7 for Windows 7 ?

Hi AliNda, The latest version of PCS7 is V8.1 and it's primarily meant for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 platforms. See the following link: Delivery Release for SIMATIC PCS 7 Process Control System V8.1 Windows 7 based PCS7 versions began with V8.0. Additionally a new SP4 was released for PCS7 V7.1 to include Windows 7 support. Regards
