Yoga Shankar Posts: 288 Rating: (22)	Dear All, I want to update an existing PCS7 V7.0 SP1 installation to PCS7 V7.1 SP1, without formatting my PC. can anybody please tell me the proper procedure for doing the update correctly??? thanks in advance

roby64 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	I've the same problem, i try to insallal over the existing PCS7 installation with the upgrade option, but find a problem with the Visual C++ runtime and now work arond for solve it.

And I suggest you don't update it. If you need contact also with Siemens supports and ask for details about the right way. Roby64, I am afraid the only safety way to solve your problem is with new installation of software. (new OS). Don't try to correct registry... Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Best method will be format your system and reinstall the software completely but i installed the same in my project and worked like a charm..
