Hi guys,

I have a redundant CPU-417-H  inPCS7 v6.1to communicate with a CP of S7-1200 family(CP1243-1).

Data to be transferred in = approx 600 bytes

1. In case of GET/PUT function can 600 bytes be transferred?.

2.If it can be used i  need read/write function.Should i create a unilateral or bilateral connection.

i.e connections and blocks on both CPU or in any one

3. Will T-blocks work with PCS7v6.1 It is mentioned in the CP1243-1 manual that a minimum of v3 for T-blocks is required.

4. What slot i should give in the address details of connection properties in s7-400h  if the CP-1243 module in placed left to the s7-1200 cpu.

Kindly help me on this ...

for read/write is it enough to create put/get in s7400h side only or both sides?

should i create a unilateral or bilateral s7 connection.

Also if cp-1243-1 is placed to left of the s7 1200 what must be the slot position and connection resource for unilateral or bilateral..

you can use the functions "PUT" and "GET" only on one AS or on both AS's. But you have to consider that simultaneously access from both AS to the data is not allowed. Therefore, you have to make sure that only one AS reads or writes the data.

So my opinion it is easier to use only on one AS the functions "PUT" and "GET".

                        Thanks for the reply.. Tested communication with s7400h as client and s71200 as server by defining an array in DB for both side .

I want bool ,int,real values to be passed using the same DB (ex:100 bytes which has all datatypes) .

But when i declare the RD pointer in GET block in s7400 side, as DB39 DBX0.0 BYTE 100 my

status is error=1 error status=4 and ndr=0..

How to declare the ANY pointer at RD parameter of GET block in s7400, if i want to get bool,int,real datatypes from s71200 using the same db??

in the FAQ How can you construct an ANY pointer in S7-SCL using the AT function? you can find how to define an Any pointer.

And in your case the section 22 "S7 Communication" in manual SIMATIC System Software for S7-300/400 System and Standard Functions should be helpful.

                     The document does not have section22 and also not able to find vol2/2 of the specified document.Also i need not construct an any pointer to connect to the the RD pin of the GET block i think.

Can different datatypes be passed in the same DB using a GET instruction..Kindly help me on this,,,

the manual include also the second part of the manual. The second part beginn at page 317.
I don't know why the manual has this confusing name.
