PCU50 Restore disk or ghost image

mrtans Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a PCU50 6FC5210-0DF20-0AA0 i believe it is a ver. 2 since it is the 566Mhz celeron with winNT 4. The hard drive is completely blank and i don't have another to make a ghost image from. I have spoke with siemens tech support and they said there is nothing they can do to help me. After doing some research i have found this part # 6FC5247-0AF08-0AA1 which i believe is the hard drive for this system. My questions are: 1 - Is this part what i need and does it come with all of the 4 required partitions and software installed for this unit. 2 - Does anyone have a ghost image of a pcu50 with WinNT4 that i can get so i can restore this unit. 3 - I believe that there is a XP version that is still available. Does anyone have a part number for that and or know if i can use it on this system. Thank you, David

What you have mentioned 6FC5210-0DF20-0AA0 is complete system with embedded OS, RAM with HDD. 1.From your post it is learnt that your HDD has gone faulty. You don't have GHOST image also. What about system CDs. If you have system CDs, check if the same system is available with local Siemens office & you can load the system configuration. One more do you have NC, PLC back up data? If you don't have any back up data, then its nothing but the new commissioning of machine job again. 2.Even if you get GHOST image back up data from anywhere, what about NC, PLC, MC data back up & part programe? Please think about it. 3.6FC5247-0AF08-2AA0 or higher/latest version you can try. Hope this shall help you. Best luck. DEEP.

I do not have any system CD's and Siemens tech support said there wasn't one. However, i do have NC, PLC backups. Do you think i would have better luck trying to contact a local Siemens SALES office to get a system CD What i have is a bench system i put together using a PC and SinucomNC to simply run a few motors. I recently purchased a used PCU50 that is completely blank "Doesn't have the 4 partitions on its hard drive." All i really need is a copy of a system CD or ghost image of the 4 partitions of someones system put onto a media stick. Or even uploaded to my FTP. Thanks Again,

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hello.... Do you have any specail screens developed in your PCU 50? If it is developed you need to ask your machine manufacurer(OEM). If no screens are developed in PCU50 you can get in touch withnearestregional Siemens Office for asking the Base software ie GHOST software.... Have you purchased this PCU 50 has spare? NC and PLC archive backups are not requried to LOAD when ever you restore any ghost backup.... Check it out.... Regards, Ekalavya

I just need an image that includes the original C,D,E,F partitions that came on a PCU50. Or even someones that has been modified. I will make it work from that point by making my own PLC & NC. I just want to take these four PCU50's i bought used and get them to work instead of operating off of a PC with SinucomNC. Dave

If you have it you can take the ghost image of the same on load on your new PCU50.... But before takingany GHOST image from any working machine and restoring it on new PCU50ensure what type of PCU 50 is this WIN NT / WIN XP? Check It out... Regards, Ekalavya

I have a bench setup used for testing components using a PC and SinucomNC and i finally received a PCU50 that i want to start using but it has a blank hard drive. I just need a image of the 4 partitions. I don't really care how much it has been modified i will most likely be able to make it work. My unit is the WinNT version.
