Performance Optimization for ET200s (IM151-3 PN)

Dear experts,

Our application involves using a free rotating wheel to detect feed motion. When the feed moves, the rotating wheel (after making a 180° rotation) sends a signal to a 24v HF digital input which is connected to a IM 151-3 PN.

It works fine when the feed is in slow speed. But as the feed reaches a certain velocity, we stop getting pulses as shown in the attached.

We know it is not a mechanical fault because we tied the wheel input to an oscilloscope and it was showing pulses with higher frequencies with no gaps as it approached higher speeds.

Any ideas on what we can do to make this work? Is there a setting that can be configured to make it detect high frequency pulses? or do we have to go to a higher performance ET200S?

By default the "input delay" of your digital HF input is set to 3ms. The purpose of this option is to ignore faulty signal peaks.
You can reduce the input delay to 0,1ms which maybe solves your problem. But I can't promise this.

Check the digital input options and give it a try.
