PG/PC Interface Internal - Simatic PC Station

Rob__M Regular Member Joined: 5/20/2014 Last visit: 9/22/2021 Posts: 8 Rating: (1)	I'm trying download a Simatic PC Station configuration (IE General and OPC server)using TIA V13 but having some difficulties.I'm using one PC (Windows 7 Enterprise SP1)whichhasboth TIA V13 and Simatic Manager (Softnet PN IO License)installed. I have created a Simatic station using Station Configuration Managerwhich matches the station in the TIA project. I'veset the PG/PC interface to "S7ONLINE (STEP 7) --> PC internal.local.1" using the "Set PG/PC Interface"tool. When I use extended download in TIA Portal I don't get any option to download to the internal PC station, only external communication adapters. Note: I also tried using an external Field PG networkedto the PC via PN toconfigure the PC station but this also didn't work. When using the extended download option the PC showed up but only with a MAC address, not an IP address, an upon attempt to download came back as unreachable. The PC replied when pinged from the PG. I'm hoping someone may be able to give me some advice please on where I may be going wrong? Any advice would be much appreciated.

allmächt! Posts: 215 Rating: (6)	Hello Rob__M. first check if you can ping your PLC. If it is not possible check if all net participants have the same basic address in common (also PG) e.g. PG: 192.168.000.001, PLC: 192.168.000.002 if ping results a positive answer second check the accessible devices by double click on "update accessible devices"as shown in attached picture. Underneath the accessible devices will be listed. Then click right one on the PLC. Follow the menu "download to device > hardware and software" good luck. Did it solve your problem? I used the setup with PG, PLC and PC (Simatic PC Station) networked together on PN. The firewall on the Simatic PC StationPC was causing the problem. I solved this by removing the PC from the corporate network and hence avoiding the firewall requirements imposed by the corporate network.
