Hi, The referencedthreadadvise(in the response) to compile the multiple stations in Netpro. I looked up a manual for you. This explains clearly what to do and how: See chapter "1.7.3 Network/Project Variant: Two or More Subnets − One Project" I hope that clarify things a bit. I would follow the advice in the referenced topic and the official manual. It is up to you, but I think life is easier if you follow manuals. Cheers

Thanks MicroMan for the link, but I still haven't found the final answer to my question. Here's the situation... There is an old PLC (PROFIBUS Master) + PC with SCADA on the same PROFIBUS network. I need to add my new PLC into this network and modify the SCADA. I don't need to do any changes in the old PLC. The plant is almost running 24/7 and I don't want to do any modifications of the existing PLC HW. At least, I'm trying to avoid it if I can. So, my straight-forward question is: can I connect my new PLC to the existing PROFIBUS network without modifying the old PLC HW config and then add a new WinnCC new connection in the SCADA? There should be two seperate PLC projects without any interface. rusli_rusli wrote that it is possible. |

Hi, I feel your pain. It is a hard decision. It is a guess from me: I think whatrusli_rusliwrote may work. I believe you will have interesting operational problems as the two PLC can disturb each others communications. That is my guess for this. I would not do it. The reason I attached the manuals, as this is the best way to do it. I would try to follow the manual even if it looks painfull. Regards: |
