PLC address error - S7-1200 -> TP 700 Comfort

Poljachina Posts: 62 Rating: (0)	Hello all. I'm working with a S7-1200 CPU, a TP700 comfort panel and 4 drives that are all connected through profinet. I've started my project yesterday and have already made a few functions that are displayed on the panel. I'm using about 25 tags so far. But all of a sudden yesterday the panel started showing error messages for some tags. TagName: PLC address error Every time I add something in the Step7 logic a new tag gets this error message. Has any one experienced a similar problem ? I'm going nuts because I can't work on, I'm stuck at this point now. So far I have tried making a completely new project but it's the same problem. I have tried to change the address of the tag in Step7 but nothing fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced. Best regards.

Poljachina Posts: 62 Rating: (0)	I have rebuilt and downloaded countless times to the PLC, because I thought that it has to be something that changed there and so the OP doesn't connect to the tag. It's strange that it also doesn't find some some peripheral inputs that realy can't change unless I would alter the hardware config.. So far I've solved this by changing the tag properties. I've switched from the symbolic access to direct access. But this can't be the solution to change tags over and over again. So sorry I don't dare to change the tag properties and risk another error spell. Best regards.

Do share your project to have a look at it. Which should enable to help you better.

Today again when I downloaded the changed PLC code to the PLC, the operator panel outputed a new tag that it couldn't access. The tag was a sint variable MB102. So it's location couldn't be changed. I can't upload the project because it's too large. Is it Ok if I post a dropbox link? I'm starting to think that this is a bug in the V12 version fo TIA portal, I didn't have these kind of problems before when working with the V11 version. I just upgraded my version for this project. Best regards. A Hello Poljachina, You may archive your project and generate *.zap12 file. You can reduce the storage space required for the currently open project by compressing the project into a file, or by reducing the project files to their essential components. You can do both of these with the archiving function of the TIA Portal. To archive a project, follow these steps: 1. Select the "Archive" command in the "Project" menu. The "Archive current project as..." dialog opens. 2. Select the directory where you want to save the archive file or the new project directory. 3. Select the file type from the "File type" drop-down list: – TIA Portal project archive, if you want to create a compressed file of the project. – Minimized TIA Portal project, if you only want to create a copy of the project directory with minimal storage space. 4. Enter a file name in the "File name" field if you are creating an archive file. If you are creating a minimized project directory instead, enter the name of the new project directory to be created in the "File name" box. 5. Click "Save". When you have created a project archive, a compressed file is generated with the extension ".zap12" (for projects created with version V12.x of the TIA Portal). The file contains the complete project directory. The individual files of the project are also reduced to the essential components in order to save space. If you have created a minimized TIA Portal project, only a copy of the original project directory is created at the desired location. The files contained within it are reduced to their essential components in order to save space.

Poljachina Posts: 62 Rating: (0)	Hello, thankyou for the reply. Even if I choose the minimized option the file size is still bigger than 3MB. So I'm posting a dropbox link to the project. Now it has gotten even worse. It can't access the digital outputs of the PLC. As soon as I changed the access type to absolute insted of symbol it started to work again. Strange. Poljachina Posts: 62 Rating: (0)	Unfortunatley no. Yesterday I was editing an old project that was made in TIA portal 11 that had no errors of this type. I opened this old project with the new TIA portal 12 and changed a few things(I added a few tags) and then downloaded the new project to a KTP 400 panel and the same thing happened. The panel started outputing error messages that it can't reach the tags. I had to alter the access type from symbolic to absolute for the thing to start working. It's alway a problem with a MW, MD or MD varibable not with variables that are in DB's. Strange... So the only solution for now is to change the access type... Cheers

I guess you changed something in the configuration / programming. Means if you insert new variables the internal symbolic structure changes. This is an integrated project - with variables between PLC and HMI thereforeyou have to compile and download both stations after changing something. Otherquestion is,did you try to rewire/reconnect your tags? (TIA Portal project tree -> right click on HMI-Tags -> Reconnect PLC Tag) Two separate projects can only work together on absolute addresses. But one integrated project can handlethe informationon both ways -> but the preferred oneshould be the symbolic. Regards !
