PLC alarms in WinCC professional from IM151-8 PN/DP CPU

jasonr Posts: 108 Rating: (2)	Hi Amit, Thank-you for the reply. However, this information is not helpful because it refers to HMI alarms rather than PLC alarms. PLC alarms are those that are generated using the PLC alarm functions blocks such as ALARM_DQ, ALARM_D, ALARM_S, etc. The triggering of the alarm and the alarm parameters are configured mainly at the PLC end for these type of alarms. I have not had any problems generating PLC alarms using a CPU315-2 CPU, but there appear to be issues with using the IM151-8 CPU in TIA Portal. It is not possible to establish an "HMI Connection" between this type of CPU and a WinCC professional runtime module. What I want to know is whether or not it is still possible to generate PLC alarms from an IM151-8 CPU for display in WinCC Professional V11 runtime. Thanks Jason

My problem is that I am now using WinCC Professional V11 on a project having IM151-8 PN/DP PLCs. Is there a way to use PLC alarms from these PLCs in WinCC Professional V11? Jason

jasonr Posts: 108 Rating: (2)	Hi Tweety, It was not possible to use PLC alarms with an IM151-8 CPU in WinCC professional V11, since an integrated connection between this CPU and WinCC pro runtime could notbe set up. Siemens support have kindly provided a temporary fix to our company that resolves this issue. They have also informed us that the issue will be officially resolved when update 4 for WinCC Pro V11 SP2 is released next month. Jason
