PLC open, G120, S7-1200

OSx Posts: 9 Rating: (5)	Yes, that is possible. You have to use the G120 as a technology object in the S7-1200. For this, goto "Technolgy objects" and create a new object. Connect the object with the G120 and than you could use the PLCopen function blocks to control the G120... In this case, you do not have to care about the G120 anymore. Power on the drive with "MC_Power", reset errors and warnings with "MC_Reset" and speed up the drive with "MC_MoveVelocity". To connect the function blocks in the PLC program with the G120, use the input "Axis" of the function blocks. Write there the name of you technology object... Have fun!

Petr Bohac Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Ok, I realized that I have S7-1200 in version 3. So I cannot use TO_PositioningAxis. If I use TO_Axis_PTO, TIA allows me use only pulses on digital inputs. There should be other way. Maybe direct communication with converter G120.

OSx Posts: 9 Rating: (5)	Sorry, I see... I think, the best and easiest way is to buy a new S7-1200 controller for this project, like S7-1212 DC/DC/DC(6ES7212-1AE40-0XB0). Fact is, you need firmware version V4.1 for using S7-1200 with motion control over PROFInet connection.
