(Tools>>Options>>Attach Symbols) But in Tia Portal V13.0, i can find any symbol table in the project folder. Thanks for your help...

(Tools>>Options>>Attach Symbols) But in Tia Portal V13.0, i can find any symbol table in the project folder. Thanks for your help... When you simulate a portal project, the tags get sent to the plc automatically just like they do in the real plc. When you "download" to the simulator, that is when it happens for you.

If i was trying this in step 7 project, i was able to see the explanation of the I124.0, I124.1.. next to the box. But in Tia portal, i can not attach even a symbol table. Is thıs normal? Or there is a solution to this problem? I tried it by simulating the project, and also downloading the project to the simulator. Thanks...

If you name your bits in IB124 to logical names like "MotorOK" = I124.0, "MotorFault" = I124.1, "MotorRunning" = I124.2, then in your simulator, you can address them by name.

Of course, all my input bits are described in my tia project, like"MotorOK" = I124.0, "MotorFault" = I124.1, "MotorRunning" = I124.2.... But the problem is, i cant see their descriptions in PLC SIM. When i move the cursor on the input byte, it says"I124.0 : No symbol table attached" When i was working with simatic manager, i could able to see their descriptions. Hello rockie86, Just to add some points to this discussion.The "attach symbols..." option in PLCSIM 5.X searches for a file with ".s7p" extension to distinguish it as a project.This extension is only created for classic STEP 7 projects and it can not recongnize structure of a TIA Project. This is why you can not find your TIA symbols to select in PLCSIM5.X.For me if it is really necessary, I export my symbols to an excel file (select all-->copy-->paste) and edit them in form of classic STEP 7 format (removing % from absolute addresses).As a work around, I make a project in STEP 7 with only an S7 program and then import the symbols there.In this way , you can import your important tags via PLCSIM 5.X. About comments from our friend "huggy_d1", I guess he was talking about downloading a project related to S7-1500 in PLCSIM V1X.For S7-300/400 only blocks folder is transferred to PLC that doesn't contain any symbol file.This is as the same as PLCSIM V5.X. But i dint understand why we are not able to attach symbols to PLCSIM in Tia portal? It is a need for all of us. Hope Siemens will solve this problem soon, Special thankshdhosseini...

I made a project / program in TIA Portal V13 for S7-300 (313C-2 DP , article no : 6ES7 313-6CF03-0AB0), entered all used symbols / tags in PLC tags table, but when I start the simulation appears the same problem as described in first post. I only see the adresses not the names / tags I chose. It's seriously irritating to test the program without seeing the tags. As I understood, the TIA PLCSim should download the tag table by itself without using the "Attach Symbol" function as it was needed in SIMATIC Manager and the "Attach Symbol" function is only for migrated / imported projects from STEP7 ?

Kirill Dremljuga Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Within the simulator, I have the same situation as on the picture showed above (couple of posts aboce, attachment). The PLCSIM doesn't show me tags when I use input/output/memory/vertical bits, only the bits absolute adress. It's pretty inconvinient to test the program in simulator without the tags, I have to keep PLC Tag table on second screen to see compare.
