PLC system maintenance

We have a working PLC panel and recently we decided to get it out of service and probably will not be used for several years . What should we do in this period? and what maintenance should be performed ? Is there any standard maintenance program for this situation?

I think you should note the storage conditions of you panel. You find this information in the manual of the panel or in the data sheet of the technical data.

By PLC panel i meant the whole PLC system that includes  all Simatic hardware and other parts of the panel altogether.

For example what maintenance should be done for PLC system itself during the rest time?

Store it in a warm, dry and dust free environment.

Make a backup of all Software before storage.

IF there are batteries inside, replace them.

I would say ...

If you don't know how long the panel will be out of service... remove the batteries. Batteries can leak

When the panel needs to function again... insert fresh batteries, load the backup files into the different devices and power up the panel.
