PLC UDT, 'Data type is not supported by the device'

Hi All

I am using TP1500 Comfort panel. I have PLC UDT structure, I added structure to library (everything is ok). During the development of the faceplate I can insert PLC UDT but when I insert instance of the faceplate on the screen and try to connect value from PLC (that is with same UDT structure) error appear "Data type is not supported by the device".

Also when I want to add new tag to HMI I can not select data type from library that is UDT from PLC.

Is this mean that I can not use PLC UDT structure in TP1500 Comfort?

Split from HMI UDT vs PLC UDT.

I thnik I have found reason. 

PLC UDT can be used only for WinCC Professional :(  Can someone confirm this? Because siemens documents for faceplate looks like Comfort/Advanced can use this option too.

Hello,

for PLC UDT check for which PLC Type the UDT is designed.

If you design it for S7-300 you can't use it for another PLC Type like S7-1200.

I am using TIA V13 SP1 Upd5

My PLC UDT is for 1500 and I am using this connection in HMI. I know that you need to have same controller family.

Please find attached screenshots with small explanation of my steps.

I used this since V13 SP1 a lot of times and it works so there is reason for struggeling has to be in your project.

Select the Panel in Project tree -> Rightclick-> Properties-> Change Device Version

Look if on the left side there is your Panels or Runtime with V13.0.1.0 if there is a lower Version then you have to select it again with the new V13.0.1.0 Image.

You were right my panel was with versin V13.0.0.0. After chaning version, finaly everything is ok. 

I never would have thought of that.
