I have kind of the same problem; we have PLCs in our cranes, but sometimes they are shutted down. When this happens, after the power is back on, the PLCs won't reconnect to wincc runtime V15.1.

Did update resolve the issue ?

Or can I try anything else ? 

We are using S7 Connection and the only way to reconnect the PC is to restart the wincc runtime.

I don't see any settings in the TIA Portal that would say "don't reconnect if communication is lost" or "keep conenction even if partner doesn't respond".

We have wincc RT Professional (65536) licence active on the server which has wincc runtime on it.

I would try installing the latest update as discussed in the other thread. Updates for STEP 7 V15.1 and WinCC V15.1 

You should also check that the PG/PC interface is well configured.  Also, have you noticed any hardware issue??

Thanks for the answer. I installed runtime update 8, without resolving the issue.

Also, since all the PLC connect at first when the runtime starts and the two in lab are working, I am guessing my hardware and PG/PC are setup correctly ? From what I see for the PG/PC interface, there is no other options that would have make it work except the right Ethernet card.

I had to reinstall the old server in production since I had this issue, but I did some tests in lab with the same server and application, with only 2 PLCs. This time, whatever I do, the PLCs are still reconnecting. 

Can it be because there is too many PLCs ?

I'm not a fan of testing during production (again), but I might have no other choice since I don't have 27 PLCs in lab.

Le me know if you have any other suggestion, I need to make this work again.

So we did some tests yersterday and it turns out the system only connect to 10 PLCs, not sure why at the moment. When turning on the 11th PLC, I had to turn of the 10th and then the 11th connected right away.

Probably a licensing problem, I'm looking for some answer right now.

If any of you had this problem, any help would be appreciated.

The Softnet licence doesn't look like it's in "use" meaning there's no green arrow next to it. I don't know why it doesn't use it though.

It turns out installing Simatic Net V15.1 resolved my issue.
Strangely it didn't seem to come with WinCC V15.1 we installed. 

After restarting the server, the softnet licences were in use and I tried to turn OFF then ON the power on a PLC (on the total of 27 connected) and it reconnected.
