PLCSIM and OPC Scout

Meritor Posts: 33 Rating: (2)	Dear blmeye, I do not know if it is possible what you askedbut please find below the sollution what we normally use for testing the InTouch together with Siemens CPU. 1.You must install aprogram called WinLC comming from SIEMENS on your PC. This software can simulate the CPU on the PC.Install on your PC. 2.You mustalso install the Simatic Net software comming from SIEMENS on our PC. When you install the Simatic Netsoftware, you should insert an OPC connection, and applicationas well to the Station Configurator. 3. In your S7 application you must install a Simatic PC Station with a WinLC and OP server components and copy your S7 program into the WinLC blocks. 4.Youmust downloadyour PLC program intothe WinLC program and the WinLC can simulatealmost all the function of the real CPU. 5.The Siemens software can communicate with Wonderware products via the OPC server so you must use OPCLink or the new generation e.g.: DASS7 I/O server from Wonderware. I know that it is not an easy sollution but I hope I could help you. If you need more information about it please do not hesitate contact me! Norbert P.S.:According to my latest information there is also possible to connect the PLC simulator to Wonderaware products but it was not working well form us. This was the reason why we turn into this other sollution. Of course itwas happened with an older version of the PLC simulator so maybe they fixed some problem by now.

SSE Posts: 45 Rating: (8)	Hi everybody, There is one more way to make PLCSIM work as OPC server: Create WinCC flexible project, connectable to a PLCSIM. As a device for WinCC flexible project select "WinCC flexible Runtime", then go to Device Settings tab and select "Act as OPC Server" checkbox. That's all. Now add all tags you configure in WinCC flexible are available via "OPC.SimaticHMI.HmiRTm" OPC server ( surely, you must start WinCC flexible Runtime for that ) Best Regards!

Take a look at How do you configure communication between the WinCC flexible Runtime and WinLC via SOFTBUS on a PC? But instead of WinCC FlexRT you should put OPC Server. About settings in Intouch- OPCLink (you'll connect this server with SimaticNet OPC Server) look at SCADA Setting - InTouch (OPCLink) Hope this will helps. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Can it help to simulate In Touch with DASSIDirect? For OPC link is it required to install Wincc Flex? With best regards ddg

I am afraid that this wouldn't be possible, but I'll return back with details about this way. In other case (until released of SP3 of PLCSIM 5.4) only the upper way is possible to simulate Inouch SCADA. Also I'll try to prepare necessary steps with more details about this.
